AMP is going National!
When Brad Gilbert and Lisa Lockhart started AMP as the Association of Media Professionals it was a small humble group based in Atlanta. From there, it steadily grew with new members constantly joining, until COVID-19 so drastically changed our world and as a result our industry.
What a whirlwind it’s been for all of us. Many of us, including founding member, Brad Gilbert, had to adapt to the new industry landscape by relocating. We all struggled here and there and landed in a variety of locations across the country. But with every problem, new opportunities open up. Thanks to technology that blossomed during the pandemic, we now have the opportunity to network outside of our local area.
That is exactly what happened during our first meeting in 2 years that was held on March 19, 2022. We had members joining in on our Zoom call from their new area of influence in five states across the country.
With that in mind, we are very excited to announce that we are changing the official AMP name to The Association of Media Professionals - North America to more accurately reflect our growth. We are hoping that this will inspire current members, wherever they may be, to reach out to media professionals in their area and invite them to the Zoom call or even better, host a meeting themselves for others to join them in person!
Thank you to each and every one of our members. We truly hope AMP can continue to be a resource unlike any other. Let’s keep bringing new folks on board!
